Why the app asks me to refresh

On this page 4
Your tab is running an older version of GhoulApp. When an update matters we send a notice to every tab that was opened before it. The notice at the bottom of the screen is called New Update and says "Site updated, refresh the page for the latest version." A tab you open after the update already runs the new version and never shows it.
Refresh
Press Refresh to load the new version. First the app saves what you have open: sheet edits, a sheet you're changing at the live table, a chronicle entry you're writing and a handout draft. The button reads Refreshing while it saves, which can take a few seconds. Then the page reloads at the same address and you're back where you were.
If the page hasn't moved a few seconds after the save the button frees itself so you can press it again.
Closing it
The X closes the notice for now. A tab that's still on the old version shows it again the next time it loads. Once you've refreshed you won't see it for this update in that browser. Nothing breaks if you finish what you're doing first.
"Refresh was blocked"
Sometimes the notice says "Refresh was blocked because an open draft could not be saved safely." The app won't reload while it can't save something you were working on. The usual cause is a dropped connection. Check it, wait a moment and press Refresh again. If it still won't go through copy what you wrote somewhere safe before you reload the page yourself.
It doesn't show at all
Only one notice sits at the bottom at a time. If another one is open, like the storage notice or the Discord bot card, the update notice waits until you close it. At the live table in full screen it shows inside the table.
If the app keeps reloading by itself or stays blank that's a different thing. See The app won't load or stays blank. Anything else goes to Report a bug or send feedback.
