Badges are marks on your profile for things you've done on GhoulApp: how long you've been here, how much you've played, the characters you've made. There are 40 of them in eight groups. Most come on their own once you've done the thing. A few are given by hand.
Each badge has a colour for how hard it is to get: bronze, silver, gold and the rarest a holographic finish.
Where they show
On your profile the Badges count shows three of your badges and how many you have. Choose it to open the full list. Its top line reads like "12 of 40 unlocked" and each group shows how many of its badges you've earned. Badges you don't have yet are greyed out. Esc closes the list.
Open any badge to reach its own page. It shows the badge's Rarity as the share of members who have it, the date you Earned it and its State: Earned, Hidden or Not earned. A badge you can earn more than once also shows Times. Share this badge uses your phone's share sheet when there is one. On a computer it copies the link and says "Link copied". All badges takes you back to the list.
Badges also show in a few other places. The card that opens over a member's name shows three badges and the total. Activity on your profile lists each badge you earn. You get a notification that reads "You unlocked" and the badge's name.
The three badges shown first are picked in a fixed order: membership badges first, then Patreon, Play Time, Storyteller, Characters, Systems and Community. You can't pick which ones.
How they're earned
Membership
- One Year Club: your account is a year old. Old Guard: three years or more.
- Founder and Early Adopter mark the first users. They're given by hand.
Patreon
- Supporter while your pledge is active. Patron after 3 months, Loyal Patron after 12 and Hall of Fame after 24.
- These count only while your pledge is active.
- Archon is given by hand.
The Patreon badges are separate from the tier mark next to your name. The mark shows your tier today. The badges count how long you've pledged.
Community
- First Share comes the first time you make a character public.
- Wiki Contributor for 5 published articles in a chronicle's wiki. Loremaster for 40. Articles still waiting for review don't count.
- Bug Hunter, Pathfinder, The Cartographer, The Nosferatu's Eye and The Setite's Whisper are given by hand.
Play Time
Time counts in sessions of chronicles you're a member of, from the day you joined.
- First Roll after your first hour.
- Regular at 50 hours, Devoted at 100, Marathoner at 500 and Eternal at 1,000.
Storyteller
- Live sessions you started: First Tale for 1, Storyteller for 5, Narrator for 25 and Game Master for 100.
- Battles in chronicles you own: First Battle for 1, Battlemaster for 10.
Characters
- First Sheet for your first character, Character Vault for 25, Archivist for 50.
- One each for your first Ghoul, Mortal and Revenant. A ghoul from a revenant family counts for Revenant too.
- Elder for a V5 vampire of the 9th generation or lower or a V20 or Dark Ages vampire made as an elder.
Private characters and deleted ones count too.
Systems
- V5 Player, V20 Player and Dark Ages Player. There's no V6 badge.
Special
Two badges stay hidden until you earn them. They aren't in the full list at all until then.
If a badge is missing
Most badges are checked again each time your profile is opened. A new one usually shows the next time you look. If you had the page open it can take about a minute. A Patreon badge can take up to a day to show.
If you've hidden your social counts visitors don't see your badges. You still do. See Your profile.
