Joining a table

I can't see a section my storyteller mentions

Your storyteller talks about a section like Map or the Wiki and it isn't in your menu. Or a link to it takes you to the chronicle's Overview. Here's why, most common first.

It's somewhere else on your screen

Check this before anything else. On a computer Calendar, Members and Notes aren't in the side menu. They're in the Table menu in the header. On a phone everything is under Sections in the bottom bar.

The storyteller turned it off

Storytellers can hide any of these sections for the whole table: Story, NPCs, Wiki, XP Requests, Planning, Handbook, Calendar, Timeline, Map, Relationships, Hierarchy, Battles, Quick Ref and Help. A hidden section is gone for everyone, the storytellers included.

Fix: ask the storyteller to turn it on in Settings. Nothing in it was deleted. Turn sections on or off says where the switches are.

It's for storytellers only

Players never see XP Requests, Planning, Prep or Settings. The Harpy Ledger opens for a player only while their character holds the Harpy or Chancellor title.

Fix: there's no fix for a player and that's on purpose. A moderator can be given the permission for Planning and Prep or for Settings. See Storytellers, players and moderators.

It belongs to another edition

Battles is a Dark Ages section. It isn't in V5 or V20 chronicles and in a Custom chronicle the storyteller has to turn it on.

Your role doesn't include it

Observers and moderators don't have Notes. Observers don't get the Your Character panel on the Characters page either, so they can't bind a character.

Fix: ask the storyteller to change your role.

You aren't signed in

A visitor reading a public chronicle sees only some sections: Overview, Story, Calendar, Timeline, NPCs, Wiki, Handbook, Map, Relationships, Hierarchy, Coteries, Boons and Characters.

Fix: sign in. If you're a member you'll see the rest.

The section is there but empty

That's a different thing. The storyteller may have hidden the records inside it, such as NPCs they haven't introduced yet. See Keep things hidden from players.
