At the table

Why some NPC details look blank

Because the storyteller hasn't shown you those parts yet. An NPC's page reveals one piece at a time and the storyteller picks which pieces. So an NPC you've met with an empty stats page is normal.

What shows and what waits

Most of who someone is shows unless the storyteller hides it: the name, portrait, clan, sect, concept, ages, sire, generation, Predator type, Ambition and Desire. In a V20 chronicle Nature and Demeanor are on that list too.

The game side stays hidden until the storyteller reveals it. That's the Attributes, Abilities, Disciplines, Health and Willpower and the Advantages. The NPC's description and haven stay hidden too. This is the same in V5, V20, Dark Ages, V6 and custom chronicles.

A hidden name shows as ???. A hidden portrait shows a question mark with an "Unrevealed" stamp. A hidden clan or generation isn't there at all.

Other reasons you see less

If the NPC wears a Facade you see the Facade's details. Their real ones stay with the storyteller. The haven isn't shown at all while a Facade is on. When the Facade changes the portrait the description is held back too.

If the storyteller showed you the NPC at the table with Show once you saw it in that moment. It stays hidden in the chronicle afterwards, so the page won't open for you later.

What you were told

Anything the storyteller told you about that NPC is under Known to you on the NPC's page, in the words they used. It's only what was told to you.

Getting a part revealed

Nothing on your side can show a hidden part. Ask your storyteller. They open Manage Reveals on the NPC's page and switch each part between Visible and Hidden. On a narrow screen that button reads Reveals. Wiki pages, locations, relationships and coteries work the same way. More in Keep things hidden from players.

If a part is switched on and you still can't see it ask in the GhoulApp Discord or contact us from this help site. Tell us the NPC's name and which part is missing.
