Start from a premade

Premades in GhoulApp are written by your storyteller for one chronicle. There's no general set of ready-made characters in the creator. If your storyteller has written some and lets players pick you can claim one instead of building your own.

You'll only see the choice when all of these are true:

• you open the creator from inside the chronicle
• your storyteller has set player selection to let players choose
• at least one of their characters is marked available
• you're starting a new character (a draft you continue doesn't ask)

Then the creator's first screen is How to make it. It says your storyteller has written characters for this chronicle and that either way the character joins it. Step by step builds your own character with every choice in order. From the chronicle takes one your storyteller already wrote.

To claim one:

1. Choose From the chronicle.
2. Under Characters to claim pick a character. Each row shows the portrait, name, concept and clan.
3. Press the button at the bottom. It reads Claim followed by the character's name. Until you pick someone it stays locked with "Pick a character to claim."

The character becomes yours and joins the chronicle. Its sheet opens straight away. If the claim doesn't go through the creator says "The character could not be claimed." followed by the reason. Pick another one or ask your storyteller.

If you don't see How to make it the chronicle has no premades open to players right now. Ask your storyteller. They may also hand you a character directly, in which case it shows up in your characters without you doing anything.

A premade keeps the edition your storyteller built it in.
