The V6 sheet

V6 is the public playtest of the next edition and its rules can still change. The sheet follows the playtest packet and shows a V6 Alpha tag. For what V6 is and where you can use it see What is V6 in GhoulApp?

The pages along the bottom work as Find your way around the sheet describes. V6 has no Hunting or Facade page.

Layout

A V6 sheet always uses the Compact layout. Classic isn't available for V6. Under Display you can choose how much rules text opens on the sheet with V6 description detail: Short gives summaries and Full gives the complete text from the packet. See Layouts, themes and looks.

A V6 sheet saves every change as you make it. There's nothing to save by hand.

Who the character is

The top of the sheet lists Name, Creature, Generation (Modifier), Sire, Clan Curse, Clan, Archetype, Apparent age, Actual age and Nostalgic decade. Generation shows its modifier in brackets, like "13th (1)". A character without a clan shows as Caitiff.

Archetype and the ages change only in Free Edit.

Attributes, Skills and Focuses

Attributes come in Physical, Social and Mental groups and can't go below 1. Press a name to add it to a dice pool (Roll dice from the sheet).

Under Skills and Focuses each Skill opens focus slots as it grows: one at 1 dot, another at 3 and another at 5. A focus that came from a lifepath is marked Provided by a lifepath. Press ? next to a Skill to read about it.

Lifepaths and Resources

Lifepaths lists the lifepaths the character was built from. In Free Edit Add lifepath opens a window where you place the lifepath's dots: exactly 5 dots among its Skills (no more than 3 in one Skill) and 3 dots in Resources. Removing a lifepath takes its dots back off the sheet.

Resources holds Physical Assets, Social Assets and Wealth. A character has one Wealth row. Allies, minions and retainers each ask for a type. Resources change only in Free Edit.

Clan Traits, Merits and Flaws

Clan Traits and Merits each have an Add button. A merit you have to activate is tagged Activation. Flaws are free text: type one in and press Add. Flaws change in Free Edit.

Beast and Nature

Beast shows the clan's Beast and what sets off its frenzy. Nature is a list to choose from in Free Edit and shows how the character indulges it and what its outburst is.

Disciplines and Powers

Each Discipline lists its powers as cards. A power that has a test shows a Roll button. A power without one shows a button to activate it. Maturing powers are tagged Maturing.

  • Add discipline adds a Discipline. Each Discipline has its own button to add a power.
  • Clan Disciplines and the Discipline from the sire can't be removed.
  • Some Disciplines the packet names have no powers yet. They show as in development and can't be chosen.
  • With Spend XP on, raising a Discipline from outside the clan asks you to confirm Fresh Vitae Required.

Items sits under the portrait with damage and dice for each weapon.

The trackers

V6 trackers can be marked any time the editor is open. You don't need Spend XP or Free Edit for them. Press the last filled box to take one away.

  • Vitae has 10 + Stamina boxes. It stands for both Health and blood. The card names the state the character is in: Satisfied at 11 or more, Thirsty at 6 to 10, Hungry at 1 to 5 and Torpor at 0. The Baneful counter crosses boxes off from the right and lowers the maximum. When baneful damage fills every box the state is Final Death.
  • Willpower has 5 + Composure + Resolve boxes.
  • Beast Tracker and Nature Tracker have five boxes each.
  • Quickening has five diamonds. The packet resets it to 0 at the end of each session. Clear it on the sheet yourself. Each 10 on the dice earns one. Quickening past 5 marks a box on the Beast or Nature tracker.

With Full detail on the sheet also reminds you that a full Beast or Nature tracker calls for a Self Control roll. The sheet doesn't roll it for you.

A ghoul has no Beast or Nature tracker and isn't subject to the Humanity rules in the packet.

Humanity

Humanity is a scale of seven positions from Monstrous 3 to Mortal 3 with Neutral State in the middle. The character starts at Neutral. Press a position to move there. With Full detail on the sheet explains the stage the character is at.

The circles lost counters on each side mark positions the character has lost for good. A lost position can't be chosen.

Tiers

What a character can reach depends on its creature and tier. This table is what the creator allows. In Free Edit you can add more lifepaths on the sheet.

CreatureHighest dotHighest DisciplineLifepaths at creation
Ghoul522
Duskborn552
Neonate552
Ancilla663
Elder884

The playtest packet doesn't set limits for Ghouls and Duskborn yet, so those numbers may change.

Once play starts a Discipline you raise with Spend XP has its own limit. A Neonate can take a clan Discipline to 5 and any other to 3. An Ancilla goes to 7 and 5 and an Elder to 8 and 7. A Ghoul or a Duskborn uses the Neonate limits.

XP prices for V6 are in What XP costs in each edition. How to spend XP is in Earn and spend XP.
