Why a session ends when nobody is active
On this page 3
If you leave the table tab alone for 25 minutes the app asks "Are you still here?". It only counts what you do in that tab: a click, a key, a scroll, a touch or moving the mouse. Switching back to the tab counts too, so a table left open behind a video call doesn't time out while you're still sitting there.
The warning
The window shows "Closing in" with a count in seconds. You have 5 minutes. I am still here already has the focus, so Enter answers it. Any other click or key on the page closes the window too. Leave now takes you out at once, the same way the leave button in the top bar does.
When the countdown runs out
A player leaves the table and lands back on the chronicle. The session keeps going for everyone else and you can join again from the chronicle whenever you're back. A co-storyteller leaves the same way.
The chronicle's main storyteller is different. When they stay away the session ends for the whole table and everyone reads "The session ended because the storyteller was inactive."
If the storyteller started the table without a planned session the night isn't saved to the story yet. Their top bar marks it Unsaved. In that case the storyteller's tab stays open on the ended window so the save panel is waiting when they come back. They name the session and press Save to story or throw it away with Discard. If they close the tab instead the table's start page asks the next time they open it: "Your last session wasn't saved." The title is already filled in and Enter in it saves.
When nobody is connected
A session that nobody has open at all closes by itself after 6 minutes. The ended window then reads "The session closed after 6 minutes with no one connected." A short reload or a dropped connection is well under that.
On a break longer than half an hour expect to join again when you're back. The storyteller can start the session again from the chronicle.
